Happy Mother's Day

To all the mothers out there, Happy Mother's Day!!! I am so proud to be a mother and I have 3 of the greatest girls. I love them with all my heart. They bring so much joy to my life!! I sometimes wonder, what was life like before they were here?

This is the most recent picture of all 3 of my girls together at Easter with their eggs. (I don't know how much Kelsey will appreciate this one!)

I thank God for the privilege of getting to be called mom by Kelsey, Abby & Kylie.

To my Grandmothers, Aunts, Sister-in-laws and dear friends who play such a wonderful part in the life of not only me, but also to my children, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!

The Power of Friendship

Never underestimate the power of friendship or even your relationships with your family members. There have been several things that have happened lately that have made me take a look at my relationships. As time goes by, I realize just how precious relationships really are in life.

I have really good intentions sometimes, but allow myself to get busy with the kids, our family, etc. That really is no excuse. I need to be better about calling people (I don't want to hear any amens out of my mom or my memaw!) No, really I do need to be better about that. What is sad to me is that if my friends and family knew how often I thought of them, they would know how much I love them. However, that is not enough!!

We have to let each other know how much we care about each other. We NEED each other. You may think that you don't need people, but I can assure you that you do. God puts people in our lives for a reason. Have you ever heard the saying, "To the world you may just be one person, but to one person you may just be the world"?

I just want to take the time to let all my friends and loved ones know how very much I love them and appreciate so very much that God has allowed you to be in my life. I don't take that for granted. Forgive me for not calling or writing as often as I should and I promise I will try harder to do a better job.

I have tried in recent weeks to reach out to several "old" friends, some I have heard from and some I have not. Even if I have not heard back from them, they know I am thinking of them. Can I encourage you today to take the time to slow down and appreciate those around you? Take the time to show the love of God through a kind word, phone call or letter. I love your comments and can't wait to hear how you feel.

Happy Friday

When the weather is nice outside, our family loves to be outdoors. This evening we got out in the yard and played ball with the girls. We all laughed as I pitched and Abby hit, we all had to duck when she hit the ball, she is a hard hitter!!! We visited with a couple of neighbors and the kids played. Abby practiced in her new skates that we bought. Hopefully, I won't be so sore this time, I just walked beside her!!! We walked to the park in our neighborhood and the girls rode their scooters. They played at the park for a while and had a great time. The girls realized today that the pool is open, so they are begging to go tomorrow!!! Danny cooked out on the grill and we had just had a great evening. We are looking forward to a great weekend and I hope you have a good one also!!!

I'm looking forward to our service tomorrow, Danny is doing a series on prayer. I have been so amazed this week at the power of prayer!!! We have seen first hand several prayers get answered this week alone and I tell you, it has REALLY excited me. My children have been excited also!!! The Lord is faithful!!!

Have you seen the power of prayer at work in your life this week? Don't be bashful about leaving comments, I LOVE them!!!!  I can't wait to hear your thoughts!!!

Thank God for answered prayer!!!

Today was a day of prayer around our house. I know that tomorrow is the National Day of Prayer and I am looking forward to that also.

We needed a miracle today for a situation and we did some serious praying!! Even Kelsey & Kylie went into the prayer room and shut the door and prayed, I was so proud!!!

As we received news this evening that the prayer had been answered, Kelsey, Kylie & I immediately starting doing our "victory dance" in the kitchen. Kylie was dancing, jumping and she said, "Hallelujah, give me high 5!" I was REALLY excited about the answer to prayer, however, even that much MORE excited that my children get excited to see how prayer works. Kylie told me, "Mom, it works, it works!!" The Lord is SO faithful and so good to us!!! I am so happy to watch my children as they see the power of prayer at work in our lives.

Can I encourage to pray for our nation and the leadership of this nation tomorrow during the National Day of Prayer? Do you have a need or thoughts on prayers? We would be honored to pray for you. I can't wait to hear your comments!!!

It's time for Spring Cleaning

Today I got out in the garage and was going through some old boxes. These boxes are OLD!!! We have moved at least 2 or 3 times and they have never been opened. I knew that there couldn't be anything really important in there or we would have missed it by now. I came across some papers that were over 10 years old. As I was looking over everything and then shredding it, I couldn't help but remember different events that happened over the years. Some of the memories were good and some were not so happy. As I was getting rid of all this information, I thanked God for His grace and mercy and how far He has brought me. I also realized that I had not fully let go of some emotions and feelings that were associated with some of the memories.

I decided that today was the official Spring Cleaning day, not just cleaning out all the stuff in the garage, but allowing God to sweep out all of the old cobwebs of pain, hurt, past failures and bad attitudes. I can't tell you how good I felt standing out there praying in the garage. I felt a huge weight lift off of my shoulders that I had not even realized was still there.

Can I encourage you today to check for those pesky "cobwebs" that may be lurking around? Allow the Lord to minister to you and sweep away all the dust and dirt of what you've been trying to hold onto. Thanks to everyone for your comments, I love the feedback. I can't wait to hear your thoughts!

It was a great weekend!

I don't know about you, but we had a great weekend!

We stayed at home Friday night and kept an eye out for the weather. It was great to just sit around and relax. Last night at our bible study, we had a GREAT time. I really enjoyed the word that Danny brought about prayer. I am so excited about what God is doing and the people that He is drawing. As our bible study was ending, Danny's dad (Billy) and Alice arrived. We cooked tacos and had a WONDERFUL time visiting with them. Kylie was so excited to see her Pawpaw, I enjoy watching the two of them together. Today we made breakfast and visited some more with Billy and Alice, we sure enjoyed having them come to visit, we look forward to doing it again real soon! The rest of the day after they left, we just cleaned out some boxes in the garage and basically rested, it was so nice.

I feel refreshed and ready for the week ahead, I hope you feel refreshed and encouraged for the week also. Did you do something fun this weekend? Share your comments, I love the feedback!

I love old hymns

There is something to be said about an old hymn, I love them! I guess I can blame my parents and grandparents for that!! No, really that is part of the reason why I love them so much. There are so many memories attached to the old hymns. For me there a lot of memories where I remember hearing the old groups come to our church when I was a child and listen to them sing. Also, hearing my mom, dad and grandparents sing and worship the Lord with the dear hymns. My Granddaddy watches all the Gaither videos and I love to sit and watch with him. To see him be so moved by the words, it's indescribable and priceless.

Today as I was cleaning the house I put one of my Gaither videos in and heard this song. It really blessed me today. I hope the words will minister to you too!

I'd Rather Have Jesus
Rhea F. Miller, George Beverly Shea

I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold
I'd rather be His than have riches untold
I'd rather have Jesus than houses or land
I'd rather be led by His nail-pierced hand

Chorus:
Than to be the king of a vast domain
Or be held in sin's dread sway
I'd rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today

I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause
I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause
I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame
I'd rather be true to His holy name

Do you love the old hymns? Please comment back to me, I love your feedback!!

Happy Friday

I don't know about you, but I am happy that it is Friday. I am looking forward to this weekend and just getting to spend time with the family.

Here's what is on my mind today:

1. I talked to Abby last night, what a joy!!! She is a sweetie and I had fun skating with her last weekend. Danny bought her some skates this week, so I have a feeling we will get plenty more practice. I miss her.

2. Kylie learned about recycling at school today, so she has been talking to me about it ALL afternoon. I recycle paper all the time, but they don't have a can or plastic pick up here in the neighborhood through the city. I assured Kylie that we would check into to it. She has already rinsed a yogurt container, water bottle and milk jug today, she has been very busy.

3. My dad came last weekend to see Kylie play soccer. We had a great time visiting with him. We need to do it more often. We played disc golf and it was fun. I think that Kelsey beat us all!!

4. Danny's dad & Alice are coming to visit tomorrow evening, we are so looking forward to seeing them.

5. I love to read. I am reading a Christian fiction series right now that I really like. I can hardly wait to see what happens next.

I just love easy going Friday nights. I love to sit around and visit with the family and not have to worry about rushing around to get everything ready for the next early morning.

Have a great weekend!!! Leave a comment, I really love them!!!!!!

There is healing in the name of Jesus

I blogged on Sunday about our going roller skating, I stated that I would probably be sore and boy was I ever sore!! I was SO sore, especially in my shoulder, but really, I ached all over. I did some serious praying about it yesterday and prayed for healing. I didn't think much else about it and I went to bed. This morning when I woke up, I felt refreshed and my body felt renewed!!! Praise the Lord, I know that he touched my body!!!

This evening we spoke with a lady who came to our bible study on Saturday night. When she came for the study, she asked for prayer for her back. She said that she had been in quite a bit of pain and even when she sat down, she did so "gingerly". We all grabbed hands and prayed before and after the study. Tonight she gave us the report that when she left on Saturday night, she has not experienced any more pain in her back. Praise the Lord!!!!

I am SO thankful for these testimonies of the Lord's healing power. He is a Mighty God!!!!

Do you have a testimony of healing in your life? I can't wait to hear your comments.

A great family day...

Today we went and ate lunch in downtown Austin at the Spaghetti Warehouse. After lunch, we walked down 6th street with the girls.

We went back to Round Rock and took the girls roller skating. It was a real experience for Abby & Kylie as it was their first time to try skating. With a little patience and practice, they both did a great job.

Abby & Danny going to take a break!!

After skating we went to DQ and had ice cream, then decided on a dollar movie. We had a great time. There was a book I was wanting from the book store, so we went to Barnes & Nobles.

As we were leaving Barnes & Nobles, Kylie said, "Today was a great family day." My heart leapt, that made my day. Tomorrow when I am sore and can't move from trying to teach the girls how to skate, I'll remember that comment!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm looking forward to a blessed week, how about you? I love your comments, tell me what's on your mind.
